Lackie's Birch Haven Community Clean-Up Days: June 25 to 27

Keeping our neighborhood clean and welcoming takes teamwork. From June 25 through June 27, 2026, Lackie’s Birch Haven invites all residents to participate in Community Clean-Up Days. This event is a great chance to improve our surroundings, dispose of unwanted items responsibly, and connect with neighbors to improve our community’s safety and beauty.

Clean-Up Dates and What to Expect

The clean-up will take place over three days:

  • Thursday, June 25

  • Friday, June 26

  • Saturday, June 27

Dumpster Availability and Guidelines

To support the clean-up, two 40-yard roll-off dumpsters will be available exclusively for Lackie’s Birch Haven residents. These dumpsters are intended for general clean-up waste and large household items.

Dumpster details:

  • Locations: Park E (Brush Pit) and 16354 Airstrip Dr

  • Use: Only for residents of Lackie’s Birch Haven

  • Capacity: Do not fill above the rim

  • Placement: Arrange items carefully to allow space for others

  • Access: First come, first served

Assistance with Heavy or Bulky Items

If you have items that may be too heavy or large to move alone, volunteers will provide equipment such as a tractor, utility trailer, and appliance dolly to assist residents. This help depends on volunteer availability and timing, so it’s best to ask early.

How to request assistance:

  • Email: lackiesbirchhaven@gmail.com

  • Contact any board member

  • Post in the Lackie’s Birch Haven community Facebook group

Reaching out ahead of time allows organizers to plan and allocate resources effectively.

Scrap Metal Collection

Residents can also take advantage of scrap metal collection during the event. Scrap metal should be placed near the road on any of the clean-up days, June 25 to 27. Multiple pickups will be coordinated for prompt removal.

Examples of scrap metal include old appliances, metal siding, and other metal household items. Removing these materials cleans up the neighborhood and supports recycling efforts.

Additional Clean-Up Efforts

Volunteers will work on clearing overgrowth near the edges of roads, weather and time permitting. This effort improves visibility and safety for drivers and pedestrians.

How Residents Can Participate

Participation is simple and flexible. Here are some ways to get involved:

  • Clean your property: Remove trash, yard waste, and unwanted items.

  • Use the dumpsters: Dispose of large items responsibly.

  • Request volunteer help: For moving heavy or bulky objects.

  • Set out scrap metal: Prepare items for collection.

  • Join volunteer teams: Help clear overgrowth or assist neighbors.

  • Spread the word: Encourage friends and family in the community to join.

Every small action contributes to a cleaner, safer, and more attractive neighborhood.

NOTE: Items NOT Allowed in the Dumpsters

For safety and disposal requirements, please do NOT place the following items in the dumpsters:

  • Paint, stains, or chemicals

  • Gasoline, oil, or fuel containers

  • Propane tanks or compressed gas cylinders

  • Tires

  • Batteries

  • Hazardous or medical waste

  • Explosives or flammable materials

  • Mattresses and box springs

If you are unsure whether an item is allowed, please ask before placing it in the dumpster.
